Dose is an app for tasting and scoring espresso, finding good pulls, and sharing them with other people who care about coffee. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. Questions: hello@dose.city.
Account. When you sign up we store your email (for authentication), and the profile you create — name, username, city, bio, and avatar.
Your content. The tastings you post — scores, notes, beans, prep, flavor notes, the barista you credit, and any photos you add — plus stories, comments, likes, follows, saved cafés, and direct messages you send.
Approximate location. Only if you allow it, and only to detect the café you’re at when you start a tasting. We don’t track or store a location history — we store the venue you choose, not your coordinates over time.
Basic usage & device data. Standard logs (e.g. IP, device/browser type, timestamps) our hosting and infrastructure providers process to run and secure the service.
To provide and improve Dose: create your account, show your tastings and feed, power the social features (follows, comments, messages, stories), surface venues and roasters, and keep the service secure and working.
We do not sell your personal information.
Dose is a social app. Your profile, your tastings and scores, and the venues and roasters you contribute to are visible to other users and may be publicly viewable (for example, café and roaster pages). Direct messages are private to the people in the conversation.
If you turn on a private profile in Settings, your tastings are limited to people who follow you.
We rely on a few trusted processors to run Dose: Supabase (database, authentication, photo storage), Vercel (hosting), and Apple MapKit (maps). They process data only to provide their service to us, under their own terms and security.
Edit your profile and content anytime. Notification preferences and a private profile live in Settings.
Export. You can download a copy of your data (profile + tastings) from Settings → Account.
Delete. You can delete your account from Settings → Account; this removes your profile and content. You can also email us to request access or deletion.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and associated content, except where we must retain limited records to comply with the law or secure the service.
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your rows is enforced at the database level (row-level security) so people only see what they’re permitted to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Dose isn’t directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to use it. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy as Dose evolves. We’ll change the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we’ll do our best to let you know in the app.
