Chemex
Invented in 1941 by chemist Dr. Peter Schlumbohm, the Chemex is an iconic hourglass-shaped pour-over carafe made from non-porous borosilicate glass, so it brews without imparting any flavor of its own. Its proprietary thick bonded filters strip out fats, oils, bitters, and sediment for a strikingly clean, clear cup — a design in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
